Belle is noted for being the first Disney Princess to have brown hair and brown eyes. She is the only daughter of an aspiring inventor named Maurice. Though not very rebellious, Belle, a book-lover, is intelligent, stubborn and outspoken, and exhibits some traits of feminism throughout the film. In the first film Belle dreams of leaving her provincial village life and having adventures "in the great, wide somewhere", like the ones she reads about in her books.

Belle is based on the main female protagonist of Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont's version of "Beauty and the Beast", but she, along with the Beast, was developed into a more passionate, emotional and multidimensional character for the Disney version.

Inspired from David Kawena's composition.

There's no color called hazel-brown. Her eyes are hazel, plain and simple.

Hazel-brown? What The Fuck. There's no such thing as hazel-brown. Just called them hazel. Hazel is the eye color she appears n the movies anyway.
